PORTAL LAUNCHES ITS NEW SPRING A LA CARTE LUNCH AND DINNER MENU
CuisineDrawing from Modern European gastronomy, Portal focuses on a mainly Portuguese cuisine, cooked in a sophisticated French style and the result is an inventive, yet classic menu.Executive Head Chef Pedro Peinado Pereira has joined the Portal team in December 2009. He was trained in Switzerland and was working in a 16 points Gault-Milleau. In Portugal he was part of the team in an exclusive Fine dining restaurant at Vila Joya, Portugal’s only two Michelin Starred Restaurant. He was also one of the finalists in the 2005 Head Chef of the Year Award in Portugal. Chef Pedro has a great sense of balancing the freshness and the lightness of intense flavours. His new menu displays a delicate understanding of authentic flavours, ensuring that well-known dishes are complemented by inventive, daring modernity. With highlights including Monkfish tenderloin stuffed with alheria and spinach wrapped in presunto, Pigeon soufflé with foie gras, morcela and crayfish rice, braised ‘Bisaro' (a house speciality), or ‘Leitão á Bairrada' the famous Portuguese suckling pig, Portal puts a unique twist on Portuguese fare. |
